NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University field hockey team has been announced as a recipient of the 2019 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team Award. This marks the 13th consecutive year that the Salve Regina field hockey team has earned this honor.

"This past fall was another successful semester for our team in the classroom," said Salve Regina head coach Jennifer Foster. "I am very proud of how our players manage their time and commitments, seek out extra help, and interact with their professors."

To be recognized for the academic team award, field hockey clubs must compile a combined GPA of at least 3.00 or better during the first semester of the 2019-20 academic year.

Salve Regina was among 147 Division III schools to receive the honor, joining five other schools representing the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC).

The full list of National Academic Team Award honorees is here in alphabetical order. A collection of past award winners can be found here.
