CCC Offensive Player of the Week: Ashley Cody

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior Ashley Cody (Pawling, N.Y.) as its field hockey Offensive Player of the Week (Oct. 8-14).

Offesnive Player of the Week - Cody had an offensive outburst this week as the Seahawks earned two wins in conference play. Cody scored seven goals and three assists in the two contests. First, she had two goals in each half against Western New England on Wednesday (Oct. 10) helping Salve Regina to a 7-4 result and a split of the season series. She also added a helper against the Golden Bears. She stayed hot on Saturday (Oct. 13) contributing three more goals and two assists in a 9-2 win over Gordon. Cody registered 17 points overall this week.

"Ashley has been instrumental in our recent offensive success," says Seahawk head coach Jennifer Foster. "It is great to see her recognized at the conference level."

The Seahawks (7-7, 4-5 CCC) finish their conference home slate on Tuesday when they host the Gulls of Endicott College (6 p.m.).
