CCC Defensive Player of the Week: Jessie Severino

NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University senior Jessie Severino (Branford, Conn.) as its defensive player of the week for field hockey (Aug. 31 - Sep. 3).

Defensive Player of the Week - Severino backstopped Salve Regina to a 5-2 season-opening victory over WPI. The senior net minder turned away 15 shots for the win giving her a .882 save percentage and a 2.00 goals-against average.

The Seahawks (1-0) return to Worcester, Mass., on Thursday to face the Lancers of Worcester State University.
