NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University field hockey team has been announced as a recipient of the 2016 Zag Field Hockey/National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) Division III National Academic Team Award, while five Seahawk players were named to the 2016 NFHCA Academic Squad, including freshman Ashley Cody (Pawling, N.Y.), freshman Molly Lafferty (Flemington, N.J.), junior Jessie Severino (Banford, Conn.), senior Sarah Thompson (Clinton, Conn.), and Brooke Tolley (Brookside, N.J.). This marks the tenth consecutive year that the Salve Regina field hockey team has earned this honor.

BIDDEFORD, Maine - Five different players found the back of the net as top-seeded University of New England rolled past No. 4 Salve Regina University, 7-1, in the semifinals of the 2016 Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Field Hockey Championship on Wednesday (Nov. 2) at the Big Blue Turf.

MIDDLETOWN, R.I. - Salve Regina University field hockey clinched the fourth and final spot in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) postseason with a 4-1 victory over visiting Nichols College on Wednesday evening at Gaudet Field. Nichols scored the game's first goal at 6:49, just the fourth first-half goal of the season for the Bison. Salve Regina tied the game less than five minutes later, and added three unanswered goals in the second half.
