DeLade hired to coach defense

NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University football head coach Kevin Gilmartin announces the hiring of Greg DeLade as a defensive assistant and special teams coach.

DeLade comes to Salve Regina after serving as an assistant coach focused on the defensive line at his alma mater Muhlenberg College.

DeLade was a 3-Time All-Centennial, 2-Time All-ECAC, and a 2014 DIII Senior Classic All-Star Game participant. He played in 43 games for a defense that is ranked #3 in the nation over the last 15 years. DeLade was also a Dig In Award Winner (Awarded to a player who sets a good example by working hard every day for the betterment of the team. Unsung Hero.)

As a coach with Muhlenberg, Delade oversaw a defensive unit that perennially ranked #1 in total defense and scoring defense in the nation while amassing a 36-10 record over a four-year period with four postseason appearances and an Elite 8 appearance as well.
