CCC Defensive Player of the Week: Matt Sylvia
NEWPORT, R.I. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has selected Salve Regina University sophomore Matt Sylvia (East Greenwich, R.I.) as its first Defensive Player of the Week for football (August 24 - September 2).
Sylvia was solid in the Salve Regina backfield as the Seahawks' defeated Worcester State, 27-21, on Saturday. Sylvia made four tackles (three solo, one assisted), pick off two passes, and broke up another in the victory.
The Seahawks (1-0) will hit the road again this weekend when they travel to face Montclair State on Saturday, September 8, at 12 p.m.
