Mrozinski announced as Defensive Coordinator

NEWPORT, R.I. – Jack Mrozinski has been named the defensive coordinator for the Salve Regina University Football team as announced by head coach Kevin Gilmartin.

"It is always difficult to replace a coach, but luckily Jack was available and for us to be able to get an intelligent, energetic coach makes me excited that the defense will be in good hands," said Gilmartin. "He has worked under some great coaches, and I am confident that his education as a coach will bring some great insight to the Salve football family".

Mrozinski comes to Salve Regina after spending the past six seasons at Ithaca College. Mrozinski began his time at Ithaca as a video coordinator, working his way up to his most recent positions as recruiting coordinator, defensive backs coach, and special teams coordinator.

While at Ithaca the Bomber defense ranked number one is scoring three times (2011, 2013, and 2016). Mrozinski also coached 12 All-conference players, 2 conference players of the year, and two All-Americans.

Prior to Ithaca Mrozinski spent a season as special teams coordinator and safeties coach at Widener. He served as assistant recruiting coordinator and head of the Pride's walk-on program. Mrozinski helped all of Widener's special teams units record top-four statistical finishes in the Middle Atlantic Conference and coached an All-American kick returner.

Before moving to Widener, Mrozinski spent a season at Division I-AA Hofstra where he worked with the team's defensive backs.

His coaching background also includes time at Muhlenberg and his alma mater, Buffalo State. In two years at Muhlenberg, he helped the Mules win consecutive Centennial Conference titles.

Mrozinski played quarterback and longsnapper at Buffalo State from 2002-2006, majoring in Communications. He earned is masters in communication in 2015 while at Ithaca.
