Seahawks land 32 on NEFC Academic All-Conference squad
NEWPORT, R.I. - The Salve Regina University football team landed 32 student-athletes on the 2016 New England Football Conference Academic All-Conference team..
To qualify for the team a player must have completed three semesters at the same institution with a cumulative of 3.0 or better grade point average (based on a 4.0 scale). One hundred ninety-three student-athletes from the eight New England Football Conference member institutions have qualified for the 2016 NEFC Academic All-Conference team. The 193 honorees equal that of the 2015 team. MIT led the list with 40 honorees while Salve Regina and Western New England University each had 32 qualifiers.
"To have this many men on our Academic All Conference team, it further exemplifies our team commitment to do everything in their power to work to become Champions on and off the field," said head coach Kevin Gilmartin. "It makes me proud to be their head coach".
