NEWPORT, R.I. - Salve Regina University senior Matthew Traynor (Secaucus, N.J.) has been selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District® Football Team District 2 as a wide receiver.

Traynor set a program single-season record for reception yards (944) and touchdown catches (nine) in 2013. Traynor ranks first in program history with 24 touchdown receptions and 17.6 average yards per catch. He also ranks second in program history for career receiving yards (2376) and ranks third in program history for career receptions (135).

This season Traynor has caught 38 passes for 617 yards and eight touchdowns while averaging a career best 102.8 yards per game.

He advances to the national ballot for the first time where a handful of his predecessors landed before earning the highest honor in Division III athetics.
