NEWPORT, R.I. - Sophomore Hayden Stanton (Wallingford, Conn.) helped the Salve Regina football team to a 43-10 win over Curry last Saturday and was named the New England Football Conference Defensive Player of the Week. 

Stanton had five tackles for loss and two sacks among his career-best eight tackles asSalve Regina held the Curry ground game to just 35 yards in the Seahawks' 43-10 win. Hehad six solo stops and his tackles for losses totaled 34 yards (16 on the two sacks).

Joining Stanton on the honor roll was sophomore Brad Kelly (Portsmouth, R.I.). Kelly returned a blocked punt for a touchdown and had an 11-yard tackle for loss on the Colonels first punt that led to a Seahawk touchdown drive.

Salve Regina returns to the field when the Seahawks take on Central Connecticut on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 1 p.m.
