Steve Cirella going back to his old school as Hall of Fame inductee

NEWPORT, R.I. (June 24, 2019) -- Former Salve Regina University head baseball coach Steve Cirella will be among six Bishop Hendricken High School accomplished alumni to join its illustrious Athletic Hall of Fame during ceremonies Monday, June 24, at Warwick Country Club.

Chosen as Hendricken's Outstanding Senior Athlete, Cirella was a standout in both football and baseball and earned nine varsity letters. Steve joined the Hendricken faculty after college and coached several sports at his alma mater. Later he served as athletic director at Coventry High School and head baseball coach at Salve Regina where he garnered the most wins in school history (318).

At Hendricken, he taught biology and physical education while heading the department for physical education for three years (1983-1986).
