Turning Point
Leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth inning Colton Eremian (Boca Raton, Fla.) scored on a bunt from Dylan Ketch (Clinton, Conn.). Then with two outs a Michael DeFusco (East Greenwich, R.I.) single to left-field scored two more runs before Zack Smith (New Canann, Conn.) duplicated the feat, sending a ball to left-field, and scoring Defusco and Anthony Cieszko (Woodcliff Lake, N.J.) to complete a five-run, four hit inning for the Seahawks to take a 7-1 lead.

Quick Hits

  • The Rams jumped on top early when Brady Chant (Warwick, R.I.) hit a solo homerun to leadoff the game and put Suffolk on top 1-0.
  • The Seahawk pitching staff collected 15 total strikeouts on the day, while only Ryan Pordes (Hawthorne, Calif.) made an appearance on the mound for the Rams. Pordes went eight innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits and two strikeouts.
  • The Rams clawed their way back into the game with three runs in the top of the fifth, then added two more in the top of the ninth before Roman shut the door on a comeback bid, getting pinch hitter Greg Speliotis (Salem, Mass.) to strike out swinging, stranding the tying run at second base, and sealing the win for Salve Regina.
