DUDLEY, Mass. - The Nichols College baseball team was swept by Salve Regina in Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) action Sunday afternoon at the Nichols Baseball Field. The Bison fell 3-2 in Game 1 before dropping Game 2, 6-1.

Game 1
Junior Cam Cook (Phoenixville, Pa.) finished Game 1 with three hits and a run scored while freshman Kyle Bouchard (Fall River, Mass.) and junior Nick Roy (Middletown, Conn.) each drove in runs as the Bison dropped Game 1 of a doubleheader with the Seahawks, 3-2.

The Bison and the Seahawks went back and forth scoring runs through the first three innings before Salve Regina grabbed its first lead of the game on a sac-fly from junior Alex Perry (North Attleboro, Mass.) that brought home classmate Sam Brito (Lincoln, R.I.) in the sixth inning. Brito and junior Christian Vargas (Melbourne, Fla.) each had a pair of hits and a run scored while senior Hunter Sleeper (Arlington, Mass.) had two hits and drove in a run to lead the Seahawks.

Game 2
The Bison could only muster up a single run on a bases loaded walk in the fifth inning as they fell 6-1 to the Seahawks in Game 2 of the doubleheader. Cook again led the Bison as he finished with three hits, making him 13-for-16 over the last four games to improve his batting average from .315 to .371 on the season.

Sophomore Zack Smith (New Canaan, Conn.) finished the game 3-for-4 with three RBI's and a run scored and junior John Militano (Miller Place, N.Y.) added a pair of runs to pace the Seahawks. Junior Vincent Amato (Brooklyn, N.Y.) took the loss after allowing four runs (two earned) on nine hits through 6.0 innings of work.

Sophomore Will Ginsberg (Sharon, Mass.) struck out five and walked five through 5.1 innings to pick up the win for the Seahawks – giving the No. 1 team in the CCC its 30th win of the season.
