Three Stars of the Day

  1. Worcester State junior Matt Irzyk (Westfield, Mass.) pitched 6.2 innings and allowed just two earned runs on six hits. He hit one batter and issued one base on balls to the last batter he faced.
  2. Salve Regina sophomore Colton Eremian (Boca Raton, Fla.) slugged his first home run of the season, a solo shot to left field in the third inning for the first Seahawk run. He added an RBI single in the seventh.
  3. Salve Regina senior Hunter Sleeper (Arlington, Mass.) delivered a two-run single in the eighth inning and finished two-for-three at the plate. In the field, he helped erase two Lancers off the bases to end the top of the fourth, running down one on a pickoff throw to first and then throwing home to get the runner from third.

Quick Hits

  • Designated hitter Kevin Larkin (Bristol, Conn.) put the first run on the board with his second home run of the season, a solo blast to left field in the second inning. The Lancers added three more runs in the frame for a 4-0 lead.
