NEWPORT, R.I. - The 2015 D3baseball.com All-Region teams have been announced with the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) featuring three players on the New England squad, including one from Salve Regina (26-16) - freshman designated hitter Alex Perry (No. Attleboro, Mass.).

Players were nominated for these awards by the sports information directors at the various institutions. The 2015 season marks the fourth year that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams, with 800 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as D3baseball.com staff and contributors.

Perry became the first baseball player in CCC history to claim both rookie and player of the year honors in the same season. He made an immediate impact leading a Seahawk lineup that produced the most runs (264), hits (394), and homeruns (26) in the league. Perry, who hit safely in his last 25 games this season, won the CCC's Triple Crown, as he led all conference players in batting average (.426), home runs (10) and runs batted in (58). His 58 RBI set a new school record, eclipsing the mark of 56 set by Nicholas D'Amato in 2004.

Coincidentally, Salve Regina won the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Baseball Championship in both 2004 and 2015.

The first-year player joins Tyler ColbyDominic Di Sano (both in 2013) and Ryan Kelly (2014) as Seahawks recognized on D3baseball.com's all-region teams.
