SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) recognizes Salve Regina University freshman starting pitcher Frank Lemieux (Marshfield, Mass.) with its Rookie of the Week honor for baseball.

Rookie of the Week - Lemieux posted a 1-0 record and a 1.23 ERA over 7-1/3 innings of work against a pair of NCAA Tournament participants from a year ago. After tossing 1-2/3 hitless innings in a 3-0 loss to Salem State, Lemieux chalked up his first collegiate win in a 3-2 victory over perennial New England power St. Joseph's of Maine. In 5-2/3 innings of work, Lemieux allowed just one run on five hits, while striking out two and walking a pair.

Salve Regina won its last three games of the week, sweeping a conference-opening doubleheader with Curry College on Saturday before the win over St. Joseph's on Sunday. Seahawk catcher Dominic Di Sano (Central Falls, R.I.) had a homerun, a double, and seven runs batted in during a 21-2 win against the Colonels.

The Seahawks (11-3) play at Rhode Island College on Tuesday (3:30 p.m.).
