Southern 5 at URI

Summary

Saturday, April 7:

An early morning northerly tempted the fleet to the race area only to see it die before any races could be run. After a lunch break ashore one of the first seabreezes of the year developed and increased to 15 knots. 10 races were completed in short order. The home team Rams lead comfortably at the end of the day. One team was disqualified for causing major damage. Connecticut College was a no show. Many thanks to PRO Bob Hicks, URI '70, for running the show with assistance from Mike Dunleavy, Christian Moffitt and Mike O'Flaherty.

Sunday, April 8:

The competitors were greeted to a brisk NNE breeze in the low teens with some gusts. The remaining 6 races were completed before 1:00. URI continued to extend their lead. Unfortunately, there was another major collision resulting in major damage. The offending party was disqualified after a hearing. Thanks to Bob Hicks and Mike Dunleavy for running a very efficient 16 race series.

Score history

The following chart shows the relative rank of the teams as of the race indicated. Note that the races are ordered by number, then division, which may not represent the order in which the races were actually sailed.

The first place team as of a given race will always be at the top of the chart. The spacing from one team to the next shows relative gains/losses made from one race to the next. You may hover over the data points to display the total score as of that race.
