NEISA Coed Championship/US Coast Guard Alumni Bowl

Excellent conditions allowed for ten races per division to be completed. The breeze ranged from 8 to over 15 knots in the final race, shifting gradually right throughout the day from WSW to WNW by day's end. Most races sailed in 12-14. Courses were windward/leewards with four legs or five legs. Eight races per division remain.

Seven additional races per division completed in excellent conditions, 10-14 out of the SE and incoming tide most of the day. Close racing throughout the regatta, with qualifiers (top 9) being determined in the final races. Congratulations to the 2017 NEISA Coed Champions and winners of the US Coast Guard Alumni Bowl, Yale University.

Many thanks are due to all the volunteers and schools that loaned equipment. The volunteer race committee did an excellent job, with Alden Reid as PRO, Charley Cook in the mark boat and BC undergrads Jake Rizika and Catharine Bowman assisting. Chief Judge Kelsey Wheeler, along with Stephanie Hudson, Michael Drumm, Mikey Grosso, and Scott Houck heard several protests and did an excellent job. BC coaches Beth Barnard and Alex Cook kept the boats in working order and handled all breakdowns. And several NEISA schools loaned coach boats and equipment, including BU, Coast Guard, Connecticut College, Harvard, and MIT. Milton Academy also loaned us two power boats.

Finally, a huge thank you to the members of the Savin Hill Yacht Club for opening the YC doors to NEISA for the weekend.
