Nicholas Barnett Trophy

Summary

Saturday, September 15:

A foggy and damp day of racing at the 2018 Nicholas Barnett Trophy. Fog banks were in and out of the race course all day with breeze out of the south at 5-10 knots with a strong flood current. A division sailed FJs all day with B division in 420s. A huge thanks to Mimi Paz '17 and Jack McGuire '17 for running races. The Barnett Family provided coffee and donuts and continue to be tremendous supporters of the program. Thank you to John Seider '22, Lucas Johnson '22, Peter Newstein '19, and Fiona O'Corroll '22 for helping with all the boat movement and land operations. Seven races were completed in each division. The Jumbos, Polar Bears, and Terriers are currently the top three teams.

Sunday, September 16:

The fog cleared much earlier today and the sailors enjoyed summertime conditions in Maine. Five more races were completed in each division in a light southerly. Courses were W-4s all day. A huge thank you to the Barnett Family, Jack McGuire and Mimi Paz for running races, and all the Polar Bears that helped with the on the water and land logistics. Congrats to the Polar Bears for the come from behind victory at the 2018 Nicholas Barnett Trophy.
